One technique for implanting radio-active seeds into the
prostate uses individual (free or loose) seeds which are implanted using an implant gun
(Mick gun) which pushes each seed in separately. Because the seeds sometimes move or
migrate out of position, another technique is to use seeds that are attached together. The
needles come preloaded (with the strands of seeds already inside each needle.) |

Once the needles are in the proper position the needles are removed while holding down on the plunger (obturator wire in the center) which releases the ribbon of seeds in the proper location |

The strands can be ordered with any seed spacing desired so it can be tailored to the size and shape of the gland.
