Prostate Seed Implantation

The technique of implanting radioactive seeds directly into the prostate gland has become more popular over the last 15 years because of the improved technique of performing the implants under ultrasound guidance to ensure accurate placement of the seeds.

The most common isotopes used are radioactive iodine seeds (I-125) or palladium (Pd-103.) To understand seeds go to:
