Colon and Rectal Cancer -SEER

The SEER staging system is used by the CDC to collect data on cancer. It is less detailed than the TNM system, and the data reported is probably more accurate because of its simplicity. The distribution by stage and survival is as below from the American Cancer Society. Local (confined to the bowel), regional (spread to local nodes or adjacent organs) or distant (spread to distant sites, e.g. liver, bone or lung.)
