It may be useful to start with basic brain anatomy and how to understand X-ray imaging of brain tumors. Most brain tumors are either gliomas or brain metastases, though there are many other types of brain tumors. Specific treatments are discussed in each section but generally includes surgery and or radiation. Highly targeted radiation (called radiosurgery) is now used more frequently for brain metastases and gliomas. The side effects of radiation are note.
